🚀 New Tool Drop: Fake WhatsApp Group Chat Mockup
Chat Preview
The Fake Instagram Group Chat Generator is a free online group chat maker that draws your conversation on Instagram's own group chat screen: the group's name and photo at the top with the call and video call buttons, each member's messages in grey bubbles with their name and profile picture, your messages in Instagram's blue, reactions, "Seen by everyone", and the message bar with the camera, microphone, gallery and sticker buttons. Make the group chat on an iPhone or an Android phone, in light or dark mode, then download a screenshot or record a video of it.
Everything you make is a mockup for creative, educational and presentation use. Please do not use it to mislead, impersonate or harm anyone.
A fake Instagram group chat generator makes a picture of an Instagram group conversation that never happened. An Instagram group chat is a direct message thread with two or more other people; FakeDetail's generator recreates that thread from what you type: the group, its members, who said what, and how everyone reacted. It runs in your browser. Nothing is sent, no Instagram account is needed or used, and no real conversation is read.
It is not connected with Instagram or Meta.
1. Set up the group. In the Group tab, type the group's name and, if you like, a line under it such as "Active now". Upload a group photo, or let the top bar show the members' pictures, two overlapping or four in a cluster, as Instagram does for a group without a photo.
2. Add the members. Add up to 12 people, each with a name (a nickname works too) and a profile picture. You are always in the group: your messages show on the right.
3. Write the conversation. In the Messages tab, pick who sends each message and its type from the tabs: a text, a photo, a video, a voice message, a sticker, a shared reel, a time label such as "Today 10:41 AM", or a group update such as "Maya named the group Weekend Crew."
4. Add reactions and "Seen". Type the emoji people reacted with under any message, and mark your messages as seen to show "Seen by everyone", or your own words, under the last one.
5. Choose the phone. In Display Settings pick iPhone or Android, light or dark mode, the screen size, and the status bar's time, network, signal and battery.
6. Download or record. Download the screen as an HD PNG, JPG or WEBP image, or use Screen Recording to save a video of the chat. Save the chat to open and edit it again later.
Texts and emoji. Messages of any length with emoji and links. A message of one to three emoji shows them large, without a bubble, as in the app.
Photos, videos, stickers and voice notes. Upload a photo, a video's picture or a sticker from your device, shown with Instagram's send and remix buttons beside it, or add a voice message with its length, its sound wave or dots, and the "View transcription" link.
Shared reels. A reel card with its picture, the creator's username with an optional verified badge, its caption, and the buttons beside it.
Group details. The group's info at the top of the chat, time labels, group updates with an action such as "Change", reactions picked from Instagram's quick reactions, and who has seen a message, as the "Seen by" line or the members' small pictures.
Your own colors. Change the chat's background (a color, a gradient or a picture), the bubble colors and the top and message bars' colors in Display Settings.
Screen Recording turns the group chat into a video that plays like the real app: before a member's message the three typing dots appear in a grey bubble with their picture beside it, the message lands, the next member starts typing, your own messages are typed into the message bar before they are sent, and the chat scrolls up as it fills the screen. Choose the quality and the speed, and the video is saved as an MP4 or WebM file, depending on your browser. It is a quick way to make a chat-story video for a short, a scene for a film, or a demo of a conversation.
Instagram groups the messages one person sends in a row: their name appears only above the first one, their picture only beside the last one, and the bubbles join with small corners. Let members send two or three short messages in a row rather than one long one, use time labels where the conversation pauses, and keep reactions to the messages that would really get them. Real groups have names with emoji, members with nicknames, and a "Seen by" line under your latest message.

It is a free online tool that draws an Instagram group chat from your own group name, members and messages, in the look of today's Instagram app. It works in your browser: no Instagram account is used and no message is sent to anyone.
In the Group tab, type the group's name, add a group photo if you like and add the members. In the Messages tab, choose who sends each message, a member or you, and type it. Then download the screen as an image or record it as a video.
Yes. Add up to 12 members, each with a name and a profile picture. As in Instagram, a member's name shows above the first of their messages in a row and their picture beside the last one, and their bubbles join together.
Yes. Type the emoji people reacted with under any message: the pill shows them with the number of people who reacted. Mark your messages as seen and the group's line, such as "Seen by everyone", shows under the last one.
Yes. Screen Recording plays the chat as it happens: members typing with the three dots, messages arriving one by one, your own messages typed into the message bar and the chat scrolling. It saves an MP4 or WebM video, depending on your browser.
Yes. Switch between the iPhone and Android layouts and light or dark mode, and set the status bar's time, network, signal and battery. Each layout uses that phone's own font and Instagram's own colours and icons.
Use it for mockups, presentations, storyboards, chat-story videos, lessons on spotting fake screenshots and jokes that everyone is in on. Do not use it to impersonate real people, to mislead or harm anyone, or to fake evidence.
