Instagram Preview
The Fake Instagram Story Viewer makes mockups of the screens Instagram shows you on your own story: the story playing with its progress bars and the Activity button, and the viewers list Activity opens, with your stories and their view counts at the top and who viewed them below — their pictures, usernames, likes and story rings.
You write every name, number and picture yourself, choose iPhone or Android, and download the screen as a picture or record the story playing and the viewers list scrolling as a video. It is a creative tool: it does not open, view or download anyone's real Instagram story.
On Instagram, only the person who posted a story sees who viewed it: they open their story and tap Activity. A fake Instagram story viewer recreates those screens as a picture, from the stories, counts and viewers you make up, so you get an Instagram story viewers list template without posting anything. FakeDetail's runs in your browser; no Instagram account is needed or used, and it is not connected with Instagram or Meta.
1. Add your stories. In the Story tab, upload a picture for each story, then zoom and drag it into place, and set when it was posted and how many views it has.
2. Set your account. Add your picture and username, a verified badge, and choose a professional account to show Boost.
3. Add the viewers. In the Viewers tab, add viewers one by one or ten at a time, with their pictures, usernames and full names, and mark who liked the story.
4. Pick the screen. Show your story playing, or tap Activity in the Preview to show the viewers list. Choose iPhone or Android and light or dark mode.
5. Download or record. Download the screen as a picture, or record a video of your stories playing and the viewers list scrolling.
Your story as you watch it: one progress bar per story — the ones already seen full, the shown one part played — "Your story" with the time it was posted, and under it the bar Instagram shows only to the owner: Activity with the latest viewers' faces, Create, Share to, Boost, Highlight and More.
The screen Activity opens: your stories as small pictures, the one shown larger in the middle with its view count, then who viewed it. A heart on a picture shows who liked the story, a coloured ring who has a story of their own, a green dot who is active now.
Each phone looks as it does in Instagram's app, with Instagram's own icons: the iPhone's viewers list is headed "Who viewed this story" and shows each username alone, while Android's shows the full name under the username and an eye on the view counts. Switching phones keeps everything you made.
Screen Recording plays your stories one after another with their bars filling, opens Activity, and scrolls the viewers list to the end. From the viewers screen it records the list alone. Choose the quality, format and speed, and each story's duration in the Story tab.
Design and presentations — show what a story campaign's Activity screen could look like in a pitch or a prototype.
Videos and content — a "who watched my story" moment for a reel, a skit or a video essay.
Teaching — explain how story views and privacy work on Instagram with clearly made-up examples.
Fun — a parody, or a meme for your friends.
This tool does not let you watch other people's stories anonymously, see who viewed someone else's story, or download stories from Instagram, and no tool can show you another account's real viewers. It only draws what you type. The pictures and videos it makes are mockups: do not present them as real story views or engagement, use them to deceive a brand, a client or anyone else, or to impersonate or harass anyone. When you share one, say it is a mockup.
Save keeps the whole story, its viewers and pictures in your browser, so you can come back and change it later; Save Setting keeps your phone and status bar as a preset. Premium accounts also keep them in their account.
To make the story itself, with text, stickers and music, use the Fake Instagram Story Generator. You may also like the Fake Instagram Comment Generator, the Fake Instagram Post Generator and, for other apps, the WhatsApp status views and Snapchat story generators.
