Fake Snapchat Group Chat Generator

A fake Snapchat group chat generator makes a picture or a video of a Snapchat group conversation that never happened. On Snapchat a group chat has a name, a group picture and several friends; unlike most chat apps it draws no speech bubbles — each person's messages hang from a coloured line under their name. FakeDetail's generator rebuilds that screen from what you type: the group, its members and their colours, who said what, who replied to whom, how everyone reacted and who is in the chat right now. It runs in your browser. Nothing is sent, no Snapchat account is needed or used, and no real conversation is read.

It is not connected with Snapchat or Snap Inc.

• 1. Name the group. In the Group tab, type the group's name — emoji welcome — and upload a group picture, or leave it out and the top bar shows two members' pictures side by side.

• 2. Add the members. Add up to 16 people with a name and a picture. You are always in the group, as ME.

• 3. Pick everyone's colour. In Colours & In the Chat, give each person — you too — their chat colour, and tick who is in the chat now and who is typing.

• 4. Write the conversation. In the Messages tab, choose who sends each message under From, then its type: a chat, a Snap, a photo, a sticker, a voice note, a date line such as TODAY, or a group update such as "Emma took a screenshot of Chat!"

• 5. Add replies, reactions and saves. Make a message a reply to an earlier one, add the emoji people reacted with, or mark it saved in the chat.

• 6. Download or record. Pick iPhone or Android and light or dark mode in Display Settings, then download the screen as an HD image or use Screen Recording to save a video. Save the chat to edit it again later.

• Members in their own colours. Each person's name shows in capitals above their run of messages, with a line of the same colour beside them, as in Snapchat's group chats. Messages a person sends one after another share one name and one line.

• Snaps. A red square for a picture Snap or a purple one for a Snap with sound, with its state: Tap to view, Delivered, Opened, Replayed or Screenshot.

• Photos, stickers and voice notes. Upload a photo or a sticker (a PNG keeps its see-through background), or add a voice note with its length.

• Replies and reactions. A reply shows the message it answers above it, with that person's name in their colour. Reactions show under the message, followed by Snapchat's grey add-a-reaction face.

• Saved messages and updates. Mark a message saved in the chat to give it a grey band, and add date lines and group updates in grey in the middle of the chat.

• Who is in the chat. The members' names in pills over the chat bar — in their colour with their picture while they are in the chat, grey when they are not — and a thought bubble over anyone who is typing.

Screen Recording turns the group chat into a video that plays like the app: the messages arrive one by one under each member's name and colour, your own chats are typed into the "Send a chat" field before they are sent, and the conversation scrolls up as it fills the screen, while the top bar, the members' row and the chat bar stay still. The video is saved as an MP4 or WebM file, depending on your browser — ready for a chat-story video on TikTok or YouTube, a scene in a film or a demo of a conversation.

A few facts from Snapchat Support help a fake group chat look right. A group chat holds you and up to 200 friends. By default, Snapchat deletes group chat messages 24 hours after everyone has viewed them (or 31 days after they were sent, whichever comes first), and a message someone saves stays in the chat. When group members open a Snap, Snapchat shows their name below it. A group's name is changed by pressing and holding the group and choosing Edit Group Name.

So a believable screenshot shows a short, recent conversation: a date line such as TODAY, a few members writing in short runs, a reaction or two, maybe a saved message — and the friends who are in the chat right now lit up in the row over the chat bar.
