Fake WhatsApp Status List Generator for iPhone & Android

Sometimes you need to show what a status screen should look like, not open a real messaging app to get the picture.

Maybe you are working on a presentation, testing a product idea, planning a video, or putting together a design and need a particular set of status updates on screen.

Here, you can build that screen yourself, whether you need a busy Updates screen, a few carefully placed contacts, a viewed-status section, hidden updates, or a screen with Channels below the list. You can shape the screen around the idea you need to show instead of starting with a fixed example.

Create Your Status List Step by Step

The easiest way to use the tool is to build the screen in the same order you want to see it.

First, choose the device:

  • iPhone
  • Android

Then start adding the status rows that should appear on your screen.

Add a Status

Start by filling in the details for the status row you want to add.

Choose where the status should appear from the Section menu:

  • Recent Updates
  • Viewed Updates
  • Hidden Updates

Then enter the Name and Time, choose the Ring state, and set the number of ring segments.

You can also control how the row appears by selecting options such as:

  • Blur thumbnail
  • Muted icon
  • Dim row
  • Status Photo

When the details are ready, click Add Status. The new status is added to the selected section and appears in the preview immediately.

Need to start over with the form? Use Clear Form to remove the current values and enter a new status.

Manage Your Recent, Viewed, and Hidden Status Updates

Keep your status entries organized across three separate sections. Add, edit, reorder, or remove statuses from each section as needed.

You can manage these sections separately:

Recent Updates

Use this section for the contacts whose status updates should appear as recent.

You can add as many rows as your mockup needs and change each one separately.

Viewed Updates

The Viewed Updates section works the same way, but keeps these statuses separate from your recent updates.

You can add different names and times from the Recent Updates section.

Hidden Updates

Use Hidden Updates when you need a separate group for statuses that should appear hidden.

These rows can also be added, edited, deleted, or reordered. You can also use the blur option to make these rows look different from the other updates.

Keeping the three sections separate gives you more control over how the final status screen is arranged.

Add Channels to Your Status Screen

The tool also includes a Channels section.

You can create channel rows with details such as:

  • Channel name
  • Followers
  • Verified badge
  • Already-following option
  • Channel photo

You can add multiple channels and edit or remove them whenever needed.

Click Add Channel to place it in the Channels list.

Once added, each channel appears as its own row with controls for editing or deleting it. You can continue adding more channels or use Clear to reset the channel form.

This helps when your mockup needs to show both status updates and channels on the same screen.

Save Your Status List

Once your updates, profile details, and channels are arranged the way you want, use Save Status List at the bottom of the editor.

You can also use the Saved Status Lists area at the top to work with a saved version of your design. Select an existing list from My Saved Status Lists, or choose New List when you want to create another one.

This is useful when you want to keep different status-list setups instead of rebuilding them each time.

Add Your Own Status Profile

The User Profile section lets you control the status row shown for your own profile.

Here you can change:

  • Profile photo
  • Status title
  • Subtitle
  • Ring style
  • Green “+” badge
  • Pencil button
  • Camera button

For example, you can change the default text “My status” and “Disappears after 24 hours” to match the scenario you are creating.

Change the Entire Look of the Status Screen

After adding your content, open Display Settings to change how the screen looks.

Layout Settings

You can adjust things such as:

  • iPhone or Android layout
  • Dark or Light mode
  • Font size
  • Screen size
  • Status ring style
  • Ring thickness
  • Ring colors

You can also decide which sections should appear and whether they should start expanded or collapsed.

You can change the Text Shown on the Screen -

The text does not have to stay with the default labels.

You can change things such as:

  • Status heading
  • Recent Updates label
  • Viewed Updates label
  • Hidden Updates label
  • Channels title
  • Follow button text
  • Channels description
  • Find channels label

This is useful when you want the generated screen to match a particular design or project.

Header Settings

Customize the top part of the screen by changing options such as:

  • Header visibility
  • Menu button
  • Clock
  • Network
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi calling
  • Signal
  • Battery
  • Charging status
  • Battery percentage
  • Search bar
  • Page title
  • Search placeholder

This gives you control over the small details that make up the status screen.

Footer Settings

The bottom navigation can also be changed.

You can edit the labels for:

  • Updates
  • Calls
  • Communities
  • Chats
  • Settings

You can also choose the active tab and change the footer appearance.

Save Your Display Settings for Later Use

You can also create separate saved display settings for layouts you use often.

This can save time when you are working on more than one mockup.

See Every Change in the Preview

The preview is updated while you work.

You can make a change and immediately see how it affects the final screen.

This makes the generator easier to use than designing the whole interface manually.

Download an HD Status List Image

When your status screen is ready, use Download HD Image to save the finished mockup.

Record the Status Screen as a Video

Need a video instead of an image?

Use the Screen Recording option.

Before recording, you can choose:

  • Video quality: Low, Medium, or High
  • Format: MP4 or WebM
  • Message speed: Slow, Normal, or Fast

This is useful when you want to demonstrate the screen or include it in a larger video.

You Do Not Need Real WhatsApp

There is no need to open WhatsApp or use a real account to create the mockup.

The tool does not use:

  • Your WhatsApp account
  • Your contacts
  • Your real status updates
  • Your original conversations
  • Account activity

The names, photos, times, channels, and other information are added by you and are used only as part of the generated visual.

Use It for Creative and Project Work

A fake WhatsApp status list screenshot can be useful whenever a project needs a familiar mobile messaging interface.

You can use the generated design for:

  • Product and UI mockups
  • App demonstrations
  • Presentations
  • Marketing projects
  • Creative videos
  • Prototypes
  • Testing ideas
  • Educational content
  • Fictional scenes

Because the screen is customizable, you can create only the information you actually need.
